(My private quarters were inside the Infectious Diseases Hospital.) What the reply from the Government was, I am not in a position to state for certain, because it was not shown to me: but the Hon. Dr Atkinson informed me that Government was not satisfied, and that I was held guilty; but that I would be granted indulgence and it would be passed over, as it was the first time that I had committed myself; but, should I commit myself again, I should know what to expect. I would have derived much more satisfaction if the Hon. Colonial Secretary's communication was shown to me.
